N & A update (and a photograph overload)

I haven't written much about what Nicholas and Audrey have been doing lately...
Audrey loves watching Gaspard and Lisa - a gorgeous cartoon about two friends, set in Paris.

Probably the best update is pictures, rather than words.

As for me, slowly I have been able to finish another book and will take some time to ponder what my next read will be. 

I am also waiting to see which book is selected for this book club.

While taking my time I have been finishing off a number of unfinished projects and have begun to prepare for the next project...

Although I love just about all of Audrey Hepburn's films, if pressed, I'd say one of my favourites is Funny Face.

I've been looking at trailers for some of my favourite movies.  I remember seeing Green Card when I was at university and had a considerable break between lectures, so I took myself off to the movies.  It is still one of my favourite movies.  I remember wishing I owned this apartment!

Audrey...

...has fine hair.  Mum says I did as well when I was little.  We thought we would get it cut into another bob and then start letting it get some length.  I was a little reluctant as I loved brushing her hair and putting it into a simple ponytail.  David finds it frustrating and said when he is home with her he tries to do her hair but she pulls it out and by the end of the day looks feral.  I can't disagree with him there!

So I took her for a bob.  Thinking she would look French chic, like the little girl from Amelie. 

She looks more like the grown-up Amelie (which is still pretty) but I think when I said "so that it sits on her shoulders" they must have thought I said "below her earlobes"!  [sniff, sniff]

So if a grown up Audrey sees a picture of her at age 3 1/2 - I'll say sorry!!

Fresh air

I saw the new Jane Eyre movie last week. I really enjoyed it. I read the novel last year and love the recent BBC version, but this movie length adaption was great. The bare bones of the story with the balance of darkness, suspense and romance just right.

And it stars a Canberra girl!  Anyway it prompted me to do this quiz.  Apparently I am Elizabeth Bennett.  I was expecting Margaret Dashwood!

It must be Spring because I am feeling productive at the moment as I have finished the Advent Calendar for Christmas and am next making Heather Bailey book bags. 

I have  finished reading A Thousand Gifts, which gave me much to think about.  I am now enjoying some fiction and have some Geraldine Brooks books lined up to read/finish/start!  Then I plan to hit some classics - The Secret Garden, The Little Princess, The Long Winter, Cold Comfort Farm or I Capture the Castle.  Let's face it, I am never short of options.  I am also eagerly awaiting the next novel to be announced for this book club.
I have so many ideas swimming around in my head at the moment for Christmas, so I should write them down while I am feeling inspired.  Speaking of which I have the best birthday party planned for Audrey!  Can't wait for January 2012.
