Thursday

I missed a whole season of camping this past Autumn/Summer.  A lot of people would think that was a good thing!  But we have a nice setup now. While we don't go strictly for glamping, we eat well and I enjoy planning the meals and the kids activities.  I have a folder filled with activities, locations, recipes and notes on equipment. We hope to get away for a quick trip at the end of winter, but are saving ourselves for a bit of a Tasmanian adventure later.
I find planning any event half the fun, so I've been reading a lot and picking the brains of anyone I know who has been.
Talking of camping, I love these pictures of Jane Goodall's setup when she was younger.  While I wouldn't take to camping with chimpanzee's much, the mid-century period is my cup of tea!

This picture I just liked... maybe my years at uni studying anthropology.  The anthropologists I know who flocked to PNG in the 1970's had a similar style. And still do! :)

Friday around here

At the moment I am loving this collection of short stories by Tim Winton.

I am really feeling I need to get a move on with my winter quilt, for snuggling kids on the lounge and for lying under in the tent.

Studying seeds for companion planting.  The idea of planning what we want to eat in the coming seasons and adding a dash of colour which I know will also help things grow and give the bees a hand after hibernation.

Planning for a road trip and picnic gathering with friends.  So far on the menu is rhubarb and coconut muffins and roast pumpkin and fetta frittata.
