Saturday

I don't have an extensive wardrobe (the season of a mortgage!) and I've never been very good at shopping for clothes.  If I had money to clothes shop I'm more likely to see an outfit I like and buy the exact peices - I'm no good at putting peices together myself.  Maybe that's why I like black, grey and white.  At least I know I can accessorise with coloured scraves, bags or jewellry.  This is such a cute clip!  It is for a Finnish clothing company called Samuji.  I think I'd wear everything in it!

Enjoying

I enjoyed watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries last night.  I haven't read any of Kerry Greenwood's books before, but know plenty of people who have and have spoken highly of them.  It is exciting to read a novel with local settings.

Grand Hotel ca 1890, later known as the Windsor hotel, Spring St Melbourne

I stayed with mum at the Windsor Hotel once, when we went to see Phantom of the Opera.  Loved the High tea.

I thought of my grandmother today.  because I bought The Woman's Weekly.  :) Not my usual magazine reading choice, but I would love to duplicate Princess Mary's wardrobe.  I know I have said it before, but I have never seen her wearing anything that I wouldn't covet for myself.  Confession is good for the soul. ;)

pictures from here.

Another Danish thing we love in our house.  Lego.  And this blog is just too cute.  Imagine designing for Lego.  :)

a confession

You know sometimes you see someone who always looks stylish and well groomed, and you think it would be lovely to dress "just like that"?  maybe only I do it, but two people that I take note of when I see them are Sophia Coppola and Mary Donaldson.  Of course it helps that Sophia Coppola is fashion designer Marc Jacobs muse and that Princess Mary probably has a paid stylist.
I heard Princess mary gave birth to her twins.  She is my age, so maybe everyone is right and it is not too late.  David would love another baby and it would be sweet to see Nicholas and Audrey with a baby in the house.  David's cousin, who is also my age, just anonced she is expecting her 4th child in 4 months.  Sigh.  In my dream world I don't work and have all the time an patience in the world.  So, don't fear, I will simply enjoy my two babies at the ages they are.
I also noticed Princess Isabella is sporting a very chic bob.  Maybe Audrey's shaggy-do is a little fashionable??  ;)
Anyway, these are some of my favourite "style" pictures.

...and for when we are dining at the castle...
