e. e. cummings
maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
for whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea

beautiful blogs
I have just discovered this blog. While the kids played this morning I spent some time reading through the entries. Oh my, I almost felt giddy over so many GORGEOUS quilts!
My head is spinning with what I'll be able to get done with both Nicholas and Audrey in school this year. In theory I should finish my quilt (because now I am desperate to do a log cabin quilt like this one) and I hope to join a book club. A couple of things for me.
And here is another blog I have a feeling I will frequent in the coming days. Am glad we have an iPad to take on holidays with us. :)Last night Dave and I watched The Tree of Life.
It seems we're in the minority of people who liked it. I think you have to read the wikipedia entry to understand it better. I loved that it was not chronological - simply episodes in the life of one family. I loved that it is preceded by images of creation and the world before humankind inhabited it. I loved that it finished with images of life after. Of families reunited. And I loved the role of the mother, representing grace. She has a beautiful spirit.

Books I
Somebody else who hasn't quite made it through Austen novels yet! I feel a bit better about myself. ;)

And a colleague who is involved in local theatre is performing in this production of Pride and Prejudice. He will play Mr Bennett AND Mr Collins!
I am hoping the book club I saw advertised last year is still running... I'll be able to join with both the kids at school. Right now I am reading Three Cups of Tea.

It has been on my list of books to read for a couple of years. (Read about the program here).
I feel like my self imposed hiatus of sorts is coming to an end. It will be interesting to see where this year takes me.

This girl
Four years ago today I held this little girl in my arms.
I blinked and now I am preparing for her to start school.
