the new Toast catalogue is out. i read this catalogue like a magazine - i love the earthy homely feel about the pictures. their photo shoots are always in the woods, or at rustic farmhouses and stately old manors. am i allowed to post pictures here?? these are a couple of my favourites from this seasons catalogue:

i'd love to buy my clothes and homewares from here - but they are in the UK. and they are way expensive!! so i just read the catalogue instead! ;-)
speaking of homes, i read somewhere once that decorating is not about imitating a style, it is about expressing your own. i really believe that. our home is quite eclectic, i like that we have bits and pieces from different phases and stages in life. i like that the things we have in our home, have a story behind them. i have so many ideas as to how i would like to decorate, but have to wait for the cash flow to free up a bit (ha, ha - if ever!)
the latest additions in our garden are a strawberry patch and a raspberry vine. the plan last year really was just to get into the housing market, and the longer you live in a place, the more you see things you'd like to change. then you have to weigh up staying and spending a fortune, or moving on. the thing is, finally, after sixteen months, this feels like home, and the more we do to the house, even if it is just planting seeds at the moment, feels like we are planting ourselves here too.
i am not at work today - the kids are still with their nan though, because MY BEST FRIEND IS GETTING MARRIED at the end of next month. so today we need to shop for dresses. and shoes. and a reception venue!
